Snow

Snow fell in the area Monday morning and some areas west of Milwaukee received about 3 inches. We managed to carve some turns for the first time Monday night at Sunburst. The snow was crisp and fast as many skiers and riders enjoyed the first turns of winter.

Where To Ski Near Milwaukee?

There are numerous places to ski less than 2 hours from Milwaukee. Sunburst, Alpine Valley, Highlands of Olympia, Holy Hill, Ausblick, Fox Hill (private clubs), Wilmot, Cascade, Devils Head, and Christmas Mountain. If you drive just a bit more you can ski at Granite Peak in central Wisconsin or Chestnut Mountain near Dubuque. West of Madison is Tyrol Basin. There are more but here are just a few. Plan a trip soon.

Cascade Mountain

Snow guns were piling snow atop the North Wall at Cascade Mountain Sunday in preparation for a possible opening Saturday November 22nd. Cold temperatures have made it possible to have a pre-Thanksgiving opening. Check it out at http://www.cascademountain.com
Cascade is about 30 minutes north of Madison, Wisconsin.
