Wow. What a weekend. Presidents Day. Traditionally a busy and profitable stretch for resorts.
We managed to teach three ski classes at Cascade Mountain as well as rip a few NASTAR runs without any lasting physical or emotional scars.
The next day was a different story. For some reason my snowboard was calling me. A voice from the basement whispered "take me out." Or was that my wife. Wait. Is she in the basement?
Actually it was visa versa. It took me out. The board did. Ouch. I prefer standing now. But I think I am getting the feel of it, again.
Sometimes it is good to try something new and feel like a beginner again. Not sure if this was one of those times. Arriving at the local Highlands of Olympia I received a hero's welcome, a place I toiled as an ski instructor some years ago.
But riding the Board made me feel like a novice.
Get out of your comfort zone. Try something new!
But be careful. Ouch!
